Equine Assisted Services have primarily to date been provided by either Allied Health Professionals (Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech and language Pathologists, Psychologists) or what is commonly known as Therapeutic Riding Coaches. Sue and Audrey both believed that by uniting and providing combined Equine Assisted Services, that we could increase the professionalism, expertise and effectiveness of services provided to children and young adults with additional needs in the Equine Environment by providing a comprehensive and holistic approach to support the whole family unit.

EquiSense is just this. It is a unique combination of Allied Health Professionals (Occupational Therapist) and Therapeutic Horsemanship Coaches working together to provide a complete holistic service to people with additional needs and their families.
Harnessing the unique power of nature, the equine environment and the movement of the horse, and coupling this with experts from a broad range of therapeutic backgrounds, we provide services for children and young adults and their families. These services are therapeutic in nature, from supporting physical and sensory development, to supporting social skills and communication, to working with family members, providing Occupational Therapy, and Therapeutic Horsemanship and Equine Respite.
We strive to the highest levels of professionalism at all times. Each member of our team has appropriate qualifications for their field of work, but also have additional expertise and experience in working with people with additional needs in Equine Assisted Services.
In EquiSense we consider Professional Oversight to be of paramount importance. One of the unique aspects of our service is that all clients seen within the service have their situation, goals and intervention reviewed by an Occupational Therapist to ensure maximum effectiveness of all aspects of their intervention
