Community or School
Group Sessions

Here at EquiSense we have developed a program for Community and School Groups, run by our Therapeutic Horsemanship Coach in consultation with the Occupational Therapist. We provide fun and engaging group services to children and teenagers with additional needs.

Being around horses for children with additional needs has a wealth of evidence based research showing benefits in regulation, core strengthening, muscles tone, neuroplasticity, reduction in anxiety, improved sleep, improved attention and concentration, to name but a few.

The equine environment is highly powerful for so many children with additional needs. In EquiSense we aim to provide therapeutic based groups whereby a class or community group attend a block of weekly sessions (Usually 6 weeks in a block). These sessions include a combination of stable based activities such as giving water and food to the horses, grooming horses, and also includes some activities while on horseback to benefit from the unique regulating power of the movement of the horse.
